Walk, Run & Cycle times are OS Estimates

Following a good nights sleep and my walking boots just about drying out from the downpour on Walk 30, Sophie and I decamp.  Todays walk has been selected as it is on the way home.

The weather has much improved and the scenario not as dramatic but pleasingly different from yesterday.  We reach the parking spot just after noon and start out along a low track.

The first peak is Grike.  Although I’m walking in sunshine, it’s obvious that the weather over the higher peaks of Gale Fell across Ennerdale is rather suspect.  From the top there is a lovely view down the River Calder valley.  This valley will be crossed on the return after Lank Rigg.

It is a short walk onto Crag Fell and the wonderful views of Ennerdale Water.

I them make tracks across to Lank Rigg, and after that across Lankrigg Moss back to the car.

A superb first weekend away camping with Sophie.
