Walk, Run & Cycle times are OS Estimates

Trips with the Bugs do not always tick off new Wainwrights for me.  Today though they have planned a “two” car linear walk that will visit two new fells, Ullscarf and Sergeant Man whilst revisiting High Raise last seen when completing the Lakes 3,000 trip.  The return cars are left in Grassmere before parking up at Dobgill Car Park on the shores of Thirlmere.

There are only a few photos for this blog.  The majority taken included many of our party, who I’ve not asked permission to include.

From the car park the route ascends through the woods alongside Dobb Gill and at Harrop Tarn pick up Mosshause Gill to Blea Tarn.

Before reaching Blea Tarn we head left to complete the ascent of Ullscarf.  We had some fun en-route sledging down a snow gully, on a small yellow spade-like sleigh.

High Raise is then reached following Greenup Edge.

Sergeant Man is just a short step from High Raise with very little depression between the two.

The route to Grassmere is via Easdale Tarn.
